Curls presents Cashmere & Caviar: The Truth
I have confessed that I am a product junkie to every client that I meet. Purchasing products can be expensive and at times I try a product first with my own money to save my clients the hassle of spending money to see if a product really will work in their favor. Well, this go-round a client of mine, We will call her( Nicole for the sake of privacy) for almost 6 years purchased the Cashmere and Caviar Collection by Curls a company based out of the DFW area. I have tried several other products and their specialty is producing products for the curls! That’s a great thing for the women who love her curls and choose to wear them!
Client Background:
Nicole has been relaxed for years but after months of coaching Nicole took the leap and transitioned to natural. The transition process took about a year with wearing protective styles and silk presses. Her hair texture is a beautiful 4c however, it is her preference to be natural and receive silk presses bi-weekly. I call clients like Nicole naturally straight (I’m totally ok with that!) She has a nice shoulder length hair that often suffers from dryness or oiliness depending on the season and her diet. She has a busy and at times stressful demanding lifestyle and can’t always make salon visits. I cringe when I don’t see her at the 2-week mark cause I know its gonna be a minute before I see her again and Nicole does not self-service at home. In other words, her hair is a mess and its hard work to get back to the way we like it.
Product Knowledge:
Cashmere and Caviar Collection was created to strengthen, reconstruct, and add sheen to stressed and damaged coils and kinks. The product is formulated with Cashmere wool for uber softening. Certified organic caviar (FANCY!) C&C also provides an intense hydration with Champagne fruit extract for increase elasticity and manageability. Sounds like a relaxing brunch for your curl friends huh? If champagne makes you relax then imagine what it will do for your curls. lol! Ok, let’s focus on the mission. Nicole and C&C!
Shampoo Day, not Wash Day (We are not doing laundry ladies and gentlemen)
Nicole came in with a bag full of the black bottle beauties, the packaging is beautiful and stands out from any other product that I have purchased or seen. I thought that was pretty cool. Draped up and headed to the sink, I opened the Hair Bath and it’s a black shampoo, OH, OK… Well, it is cashmere wool and caviar right? This is not your average shampoo. I proceed to shampoo her hair twice and her hair immediately moisturized, even my hands became instantly soft. My hands are in water a lot and tend to suffer from dryness. So for a shampoo to moisturize my hands while shampooing. Has this Stylist jumping up and down already! We proceeded to try the hair masque which added additional hydration to her tresses, We left the masque on for about 15-20 minutes and allowed my sweet little mother to entertain us. ( Shameless plug- I love my mama) We rinsed with cool water and went back to the styling chair. Combing out Nicole’s hair was a breeze because her hair was nicely moisturized not to mention the wide tooth comb was a nice help. Blow dry and flat iron was next, I must confess I use a little bit too much of the hair serum the first time and left her hair oil. I hated it, but for the second time, I applied the serum after blow drying, less than a dime size. I silked pressed her and her hair came out fabulous, seriously like her hair silky like bundles. Yeah, I know the C&C Collection is for seriously curly hair and is geared more wearing your hair in a natural state but it works great for silk presses as well! I love the product just wish there were a thermal protectant and a finishing spray. Overall, its an amazing product. Nicole had no complaints and I’m looking forward to trying it out on my natural curls.
