A Few More Ways to Love!
A Few More Ways to Love!
Hearts, flowers, cards, chocolates just a few of the common gifts that are received on Valentine’s Day. It’s a nice temporary gesture or reminder that the love or friendship is there. There are so many ways to love without purchasing the obvious, love comes in different forms and Here are a few ways that can help you with the ones you love or are trying to love.
- LEAD WITH LOVE- Life is a hard and demanding boss! It can leave you stressed, worried, and afraid if you let it. We tend to react according to what has happened to us throughout the day. The sad part about it, it filters into the lives of our loved ones or other people that we interact with. A great way to love one another is to lead with love! Too often We let what has attacked us all day long attack our loved ones. If you approach every situation in a loving manner no matter how tough or rough it may seem. Half the battle is already won. Stop and think before you interact. 1 Thessalonians 5:12-15
- PRAY FOR YOUR MATE- Before the hustle and bustle of the day starts, ask your mate what are your concerns for the day. What are they in need of, what do they desire? We are attacked daily by adversaries, prayer sets the tone for your day and others. By praying for one another We are asking God to go before us before We start our day. If We can be honest, God’s all-knowing, all-powerful and can do a whole lot more in his power than in our own strength for our loved ones. Ephesians 6:18
- LISTEN WITHOUT RESPONSE- Sometimes We think we know our loved ones and often finish their sentences and think we got them all figured out. That’s not necessarily true. We change every day and to assume that we are the same person is kind of stating that they’re stagnant. A quiet voice and an open ear is the sweetest thing We can offer to a friend or lover. It simply states you matter. You should also put away electronic devices and focus on them. James 1:19
- SMILE- Nothing says encouragement or support than a smile. Before you leave or when you arrive, give them a smile. Simple but effective! Does your mate have a speaking engagement? Maybe serves in a ministry in the church? Offer them a thumbs up or pep talk to let them know you believe in them. Sometimes it hard but it encouraging to them when you know you support them. Proverbs 15:30
- SERVE ONE ANOTHER- Give them a helping hand with a chore or an errand that they have to do every week. Alleviating stress from the week is another example of showing you care. Sometimes, We can be selfish and want our mate to do everything for us but remember it’s never about you. Galatians 5:13
Love is not to be recognized only on one day. It’s an intentional lifestyle change. We have the choice to lead with love and the moment you realize that you want to walk in love in every area of your life, yes including your job. Things will change for the better. They may not change immediately but be committed to leading with love in every situation you may encounter. We get so caught up in what we need to have done for our own selfish gain or self-gratification that we forget about the genuine interaction with human beings.
